VISION & GRIT Global
Exercise innovation, expression and unapologetic freedom.
Creativity fuels innovation, expression and unapologetic freedom. I personally believe all endeavors are served by nurturing creativity. It’s an outside of the box way of thinking, a pushing and an erasing of boundaries, a realization that the rules were written and can just as easily be redefined with the imagination. Whether one applies this exercise of thought to mathematics, painting, dance, photo, video, music, engineering, construction or bartending, we are creative creatures with the ability to build works and experiences for ourselves and others.
Vision and Grit Global aims to exercise creative thinking and fruition with weekly challenges. The desire is to embrace submissions from all corners of the globe. While the submitted works focus on art-related media, the weekly practice of accepting these challenges and becoming a part of this community inevitably will permeate other areas of one's life. Another outcome is one of letting go. Honing one’s intuition and letting go of perceived perfection. Lastly, but just as importantly, it’s about joy - rediscovering the joy of simply doing and creating, of playing without any need to make sense or assign reason.
How? What are the weekly challenges? Each week, a theme is posted on Monday morning. Themes range from colors such as green to subjects such as portraits to moods, environments and ideas. As a participant, you have 7 days, Monday until the end of day Sunday, to submit your theme inspired, completed media. Accepted media includes photography, videography, drawing, painting, dance / movement, poetry, sculpture, music and short stories. The objective is to create these works that very week rather than works created in the past.
The submitted works will be reviewed by the Vision and Grit Global team and approved for posting to the community group within a week. Eventually, we will launch an interactive website, providing a platform for community and galleries, a space to critique, support and interact with one another and the works.
Finished the week and want to jump in and complete past themed challenges? Go for it!!!! Each week’s theme is listed under the Guides in the Private Facebook Group.
Let’s get to creating!
